How Are Stars Assigned?
When naming a star, you can either let us assign one for you or choose a specific constellation yourself.
Option 1: Assigned by Star Register
If you choose “Assigned by Star Register”, we’ll assign a visible star based on your location:
- Physical Gift Packages → Assigned based on the shipping address
- Digital Gift Packages → Assigned based on the billing address
Note: If your shipping and billing addresses are in different hemispheres, the assigned star may not be visible from both locations.
To ensure the star is visible to both the sender and recipient, we recommend addresses from the same hemisphere.
Option 2: Choose a Specific Constellation
You can also pick a constellation yourself! If you'd like the star to be visible from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, consider one of these:
✅ Orion – One of the most recognizable constellations, visible from nearly every inhabited region of Earth.
✅ Canis Major – Includes Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, visible from most latitudes.
✅ Eridanus – A long constellation stretching across both hemispheres.
✅ Pisces – A zodiac constellation best viewed near the equator but partially visible from both hemispheres.
✅ Cetus – Located near Pisces, and also often visible from wide global regions.
These constellations are ideal for gifts sent across continents or where visibility matters to both sender and recipient.
